Mr Pig's Winter Riding Tips

Heated grips save fingers

Ensure you have fingers left for next summer!

Contact Mr Pigs to buy some heated grips for your handlebars.

Combat the low sun with some tape magic!

Deep in the winter months, the sun is often low in the sky. Yet sunglasses or tinted visors will substantially reduce visibility when you ride into shady patches.

A quick tip is to put one or two strips of insulating tap on the top of your visor, enough to reduce the effect of the low sun.

[DISCLAIMER]
Make sure you have adequate visibility before setting off - if your eye / helmet combination means this obscures your central vision, then this tip isn't for you!

Don't run out of juice

If you've watched too many episodes of The Long Way Round and are heading out into the wide unknown, then in addition to some hefty panniers, you might want to consider an emergency fuel container.

Petrol will eat through the seals of ordinary containers so make sure you get something suitable. Most camping stores sell suitably small fuel bottles for <£20. Beats pushing that bike through the snow!
